About Me

My name is Eric VanWinkle.  Friends call me E.V.  You can call me either.  Although, I actually like E.V. If I am honest it makes me feel like I belong in the company of some of my favorite thinkers, much wiser men, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, and G.W Leibniz.

Except for a stint in the military I have lived in the Quad Cities my entire life.  I like it here. We have the community sensibilities of a small town with just enough big city amenities.  I also enjoy the four seasons.  Although, the older I get the less I like cold weather.  Perhaps that explains my fondness for hats.  If it were up to me the art of manly hat wearing would once again sweep the nation.

I began working for the ratings dominant NBC Affiliate, KWQC-TV6 in 1999.  As the station's Creative Services Director, I had the good fortune of assembling and leading an award winning creative team that helped increase the station's market share.  Currently, I hold the position of Account Executive where I get to assist and advise businesses on marketing and advertising strategies.

In July 2015 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Illinois University, receiving a Bachelor of General Studies with minors in Marketing and Business Administration.

I am a student of Tae Kwon Do and value a lifestyle of health and fitness. In my off time I enjoy reading, lifting, and playing guitar.  Faith, family, hard work, compassion, and generosity are the core values of my life.  My wife, Leigh, is the darling of my life and my three children remind me daily of wonder and joy.
